Designing an official logo of the Hatun Q’ero people of Peru, the living descendants of the Inka and indigenous wisdom keepers of nature mysticism in the Q’ero lineage, was a deep honor. Our goal was both branding for a brick and mortar store and cultural center in Peru and an e-commerce site that would allow the Q’eros, who live in the Andes mountains, to sell their handmade goods worldwide. The Q’ero youth would be responsible for gathering a maintaining an inventory across villages as well as updating the website with support from the Wiraqocha Foundation. Shopify is the best website platform for selling physical products, so I used it to build an e-commerce site for both the Foundation and the Q’ero people. I look forward to the day I can visit the cultural center in Peru and buy one of their beautiful mast’anas in person.
